Nishkam Canada was formed by a group of individuals that wanted to set up a charity that would galvanize the Canadian Sikh community in helping their less fortunate brothers and sisters in India. 

Realizing the distance between India and Canada and the need for having an effective on ground presence in India, Nishkam Canada has decided to partner with leading NGO’s in India with an exemplary track record.  Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council (www.nishkam.org) is one such NGO that Nishkam Canada has tied up with.  They are responsible for the actual execution of  the projects on the ground.

The individuals at Nishkam Canada have undertaken not to draw any form of salaries or compensation from the running of this charity.  Moreover the founders of Nishkam Canada have committed to meet all operating expenses from their own contribution. The entire donations from the donors will be applied towards the projects that Nishkam Canada will undertake.
